FAQ

Q. What is your process

A. Our process starts with a complimentary consultation, which can be in person or over the phone. You can bring your fiancé, wedding planner, mother, best friend, or come solo. It’s nice for all folks who will help with making decisions to be at the appointment if possible so they can be a part of the experience and see all the paper and print options in person.

During this meeting, we will get a sense for the look, feel, and overall vibe of your wedding. We’ll translate the vision of your wedding into a full invitation suite.

After the meeting, we’ll send a meeting recap, an itemized quote with options for you to choose from, and a production calendar. Once you approve the quote, we require a signed contract and a 50% deposit to get started on design of the first proof.

From there, we will go back and forth with proofs and edits until we arrive at a final proof that you love. You’ll triple check everything and sign a final proof approval form. Everything will go into production, and we’ll keep you informed of assembly and mailing status.

Q. I want to work with Hazel Eye Designs! How do I get Started?

A. We would LOVE to work with you, too! Just fill out the REQUEST QUOTE form, and we will be in touch as soon as possible to schedule an initial chat.

Q. I just walked past your studio - can i swing by to look at your work in person?

A. In order to ensure you receive the attention you deserve, we are by appointment only. We reserve time for your initial appointment to review your design, paper options, print methods, and wording for your invitations. To book an appointment, request more information here.

Q. Can you mail out my invitations for me?

A. Yes, of course! In fact, we prefer to be the one assembling and mailing out your invitations. However, if you want to be involved in the process, we’re totally okay with you doing the assembly and mailing.

Q. when should we get started?

A. Save the Dates - Once your have your wedding date and venue secured, we can get started right away! The ideal time to meet with us to discuss your Save the Dates is 7-13 months before your wedding, so we can mail them out 6-12 months in advance.

Wedding Invitations - We recommend starting the process for wedding invitations 4-8 months before your wedding. This allows time for design, printing, addressing, assembling and mailing. We aim to have your wedding invitations in the mail 10-12 weeks before your wedding day.

Day of Stationery - The process for day of stationery (menus, ceremony programs, seating cards) should begin about 2 months before the wedding.

Q. D0 you only design wedding invitations?

A. While we mostly design wedding related items (save the dates, invitations, menus, programs, place cards, table numbers, welcome gifts), we don’t only stay in this realm. We also love designing holiday cards, birthday cards, and any paper goods for business events.

Q. What Printing Methods do you use?

A. We are happy to explore a variety of printing methods that fit with your design and within your budget. We primarily specialize in letterpress, engraving, foil stamping, embossing, and flat (digital) printing. We can show you samples at our initial meeting or we can mail samples to you.

Q. What If I want to use a specific image in my invitation suite?

A. We love incorporating meaningful details into our design! We also work with a talented team of artists to commission custom pieces.

Q. I don’t want to write out all my guests’ addresses - can you do that for me?

A. Yes! We offer both digital addressing and hand calligraphy.
